Please disregard it works fine. It was my own fault, Firefox gave me a ‘download file’ link when I click ‘copy file location’ sorry!

I’ve just upgraded my testsite ( http://greys.gemandsarah.com ) (yes it looks like a shit bomb, but It is a TEST SITE!) to word press 2.8 and now uAudio doesn’t work.

The very first post has an audio link and it just comes up with the download file box when you click it.

Are you going to upgrade uAudio or do you think it would be all the other plugins I have which I’ve had forever with uAudio and worked fine before?

Excellent. I commonly post WAV file recordings made through my phone. It can also save them in some aweful proprietary standard, but WAV is pretty basic. I’m assuming the flash component can handle it, a chunk of code just has to be added to recognize both the mp3 and wav extensions, correct?

Not really, no. The problem is you need some way to add the url to the page and even if it’s hidden somewhere, all the user needs to do it “view source” to get the link.

Probably the easiest way to accomplish some moderate level of protection is to use a download file.

Thus, your links would point to /downloader.php/somefile.mp3. Downloader would then check to make sure that the request originated from your page (via a refferal) and then send the file to the web.

Such a scheme can, of course, be broken, but it would provide some measure of control over your distribution.

0.7 will fix this problem. It seems that some hosts prevent the loading of *.js.php (I have no idea why though).

Nonetheless, 0.7 will use precompiled JavaScript files for speed, security and maximum interoperability.

It’d be excellent if there was a way of somehow not directly linking to the files so that it shows up in the status bar and in the html. Is there any way, maybe already there, that could hide sensitive urls that I want to just play but not reveal.
